A New Year's resolution was to write on a regular basis. My challenge will be to decide what to write on this blog and what to write on my Word Press blog.
As a Librarian turned Information Manager, I recently attended the Australian Library and Information Association's Online 2011 conference in Sydney. It is probably the largest conference I have attended. I believe around 900 participants.
It was at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre which is huge. There were three days of conference proper with workshops and other activities on the day before and the day after the conference. For may people this meant a week in Sydney.
On the last day of the first session - 1 February, I gave a presentation based on the paper I submitted. It was about designing an Enterprise Classification Scheme and using it in the reform of the Library shared drive.
I received some positive comments from University of Melbourne colleagues as well as people who attended the twenty minute presentation. I was glad to get the presentation out of the way and be able to relax and enjoy the two remaining days of the conference.
A highlight, unrelated to the content of the conference was the enormous Brett Whitely painting of Sydney Harbour that I got to gaze at while my iPad was recharging.
